The Red dot Episode SummaryAdd/Edit Jerry is the unwitting cause of Elaine's boyfriend falling off the wagon. Elaine gets George a job, so he buys her a gift, an $85 cashmere sweater. The sweater has a little red dot on it; hence the
While George was working at his new job, he becomes sexually attracted to a cleaning lady (George later explains to Jerry that he is fond of cleaning women) and has sex with her after they both drink Hennigan's Scotch, which is a recurring theme in the episode.
The next day, the cleaning lady gets upset over what happened the previous night and threatens to report what happened to the boss of the company. George tries to compensate with her by offering the flawed cashmere sweater. The cleaning lady is extremely overjoyed by the gift, launching into an emotional story about her first cashmere experience. But unfortunately for George, she identifies the red spot and thus George gets fired (Jason Alexander has said that he considers the scene in which George reacts to this situation as the defining moment for the George character).
Several times throughout the show, George mentions how he would love to dress all in velvet, which he does in one episode. In the episode "The Bizarro Jerry", George can be seen styling his hair based on a Dennis Franz poster
